Australian nutritionist discovered whether you can eat before going to sleep and which foods need to be avoided if you want to lose surplus kilograms.
While you are sleeping, the organism does a number of functions: it renews and spreads its cells, digests foods and does other biological functions necessary for life. All these processes require energy that the organism takes from the food consumed during that day or night. The Australian guru of healthy life, doctor Tim Robards, said: “If before going to bed you took a meal rich in “empty” calories, such as a chocolate or a box of ice cream, the blood sugar levels will quickly grow, and the acquired “energy” will automatically store in the body in the form of fat pillows.”
In order to have a calm sleep, it is for the best not to consume any foods few hours before you go to bed, so that the digestion does not keep you awake. However, if you decide to eat briefly before going to sleep, the best choice is foods with low levels of sugar and carbohydrates.
“For a tranquil sleep you need to eat proteins and fats from which all cells in the body are comprised such as organically grown meat, eggs, avocados and butter. Consume unprocessed foods that are easily burned and release nutrients”- Dr. Robards advises.
