According to a lawsuit instituted by a New York lawyer named Lewis Daly, the popular breakfast cereal Quaker Oat, could be extremely dangerous for your health.
This man claims that the Quaker Oat contain large amounts of highly carcinogenic compound, widely known as glyphosate. Namely this compound has been classified as potentially dangerous for human consumption.
It is believed that the Quaker Oats Quick 1-Minute brand contains trace amounts of glyphosate. This was also confirmed after several tests were carried out on some of their samples.
Daly filed a class action lawsuit in the Federal District Courts of both California and New York. He was seeking a full disclosure by the company of its use of glyphosate in their oatmeal as well as making full consumer refunds.
The worst thing is that the company itself markets their products as completely natural. This false and misleading form of advertising is what infuriated Daly and many other costumes.
Glyphosate is a compound that is found in the Quaker Oats Quick 1-minute meal. In addition you need to know that glyphosate, in fact, is a herbicide widely used in the eliminating process of weeds and is often a major ingredient in weed treatment products such as Ortho and Roundup.
According to Daly, the company must not mislead their consumers who genuinely want 100% natural oats into thinking that their oatmeal products are completely natural.
On the other hand, the owners of the Quaker Oats brand, the PepsiCo, claim that products all pass through completely natural processes which includes a cleaning process that eliminates large quantities of the herbicide.
Additional tests were conducted and determined that the Quaker Oats in fact comprises of glyphosate which is about 4% of the permissible level and therefore the oatmeal is below the minimum level prescribed by the EPA.
