This Baking Soda Shampoo Will Save Your Hair | Your Stylish Life – Part 2

Jeff Montenegro · March 3, 2016 ·

Shampoos dry out your scalp, and the lack of natural oils only stimulates the oil production. So, if you stop using your shampoo you might face the fact that you hair gets greasier than normal for the first few weeks, or just until your scalp adjusts.

With this method, your hair won’t get as greasy as it usually does. All you need to do is repeat the method every 2-3 days. It’s super-cheap, effective, simple and chemical-free, and we bet that you will love it as much as we do.

Start like this

Method

At first, you may find it hard to wash your hair without all the shampoo foam, but be patient and wait for the final results.

Baking Soda

To start with, mix 1 part of baking soda and 3 parts of water. For shoulder length hair, for example, mix 2 to 3 tablespoons of baking soda and 3 times that amount of water.

Mix the ingredients in a small squeeze bottle, and you can adjust the dosing depending on your hair length.

You can apply it to a dry or wet hair. Start at the roots and work to the ends. Leave the mixture for 1 – 3 minutes and rinse well. Warm water works better, as it removes any remains.

After washing and rinsing, apply the vinegar rinse.

Vinegar Rinse

Combine 1 part of apple cider vinegar and 4 parts of water. You can add a few drops of lavender, peppermint, and/or rosemary essential oil to the vinegar mixture, if you can’t stand the smell of vinegar. It’s handier if you could mix a big batch of this rinse ahead of time and keep the squeeze bottle in your bathroom.

How To Apply It?

Tilt your head back and close your eyes. This way you will avoid the possibility of getting some of the vinegar mixture into your eyes.Distribute the rinse through your hair.

If you have longer hair, tilt your head forward (still keeping your eyes closed), and distribute some more of the rinse on the ends.

Wait for a few seconds, then rinse with cold water. The cold water will seal the moisture in, smooth the hair, and add a healthy shine. If you have problems with frizz and static, this method will be sure to help you.
