Koumiss is known for being the best Russian folk remedy. It regenerates the microflora of the stomach, so we recommend you try the following recipe.
In a cup of boiling water dissolve 2 tablespoons of honey. Mix it well and pour the mixture into a large jar. Add 2 tablespoons of kefir and a liter of milk. Stir it, and then cover it with two layers of gauze and put in in a warm place to rest for three days. Then add a teaspoon of dry yeast, stir and re-cover with gauze.
As soon as you notice bubbles appearing in the jar, the koumiss is done. Place the jar in the fridge and drink 0.5 dl half an hour before meals three times a day, for at least two weeks.
Warning: You should not drink koumiss before driving, because it contains a small amount of alcohol.
