Usually, obese people and people with darker skin experience problems with a skin condition known as Acanthosis Nigricans. The affected area is between the legs and the groin area. If you experience darker skin in these areas, do not worry too much, but do not ignore it since it may point out more serious diseases such as hormonal imbalance, tumor, or diabetes type 2. Some of the symptoms can be irritation and itching and brownish, thicker, and softer skin. It does not strictly affect the abovementioned areas, but other body parts as well. If you experience such symptoms, you need to consult a dermatologist. Practice these natural methods if you want to lighten any darkened body areas:
- Baking soda– it will clean the skin and remove the darkened spots. Make a thick paste out of 3 parts baking soda and 1 part water, and then apply from the mixture onto the affected areas. Leave it to dry off and afterwards rinse it off. Repeat the procedure twice per week.
- Aloe Vera- it has the ability to repair and regenerate skin cells, thus prevent cancer. Rub some aloe vera gel onto the affected area and leave it for 20 minutes. Afterwards, rinse off the area. For optimal results, do the same procedure every day until the area is no longer dark.
- Lemon– it can eliminate dead skin cells and tone the skin with help of the high amount of vitamin C which it contains. Apply lemon juice onto the affected area and rub for few minutes. Leave it for 20 minutes and then rinse off.
- Cucumber– it can prevent tingling or skin irritation. When combined with lemon juice, the results are great. Mix lemon and cucumber juice, and add a pinch of turmeric. Apply from the mixture onto the darkened areas. Since it has no side effects, you can use it every day until the skin becomes lighter. You can also rub the affected areas with a slice of cucumber.
