Some of us simply have a pressing need for the sun, and we all need at least 10-15 minutes of sunlight a day!
All enlightened cultures and many sages recognize the role of the sun in the approach to our souls. We know that our body needs the sun to maximize the amount of vitamins that we get from the food.
However, we now spend almost 90 percent of the time in rooms with artificial lighting. Numerous studies have shown the negative effects of the absence of sunlight. Medical science has recently acknowledged the existence of the SAP (seasonal affective disorder) and pressing need for the sun in certain types of people.
One of the easiest ways to improve your mood is to go out and spend some time in the sunlight. Brief exposure to sunlight is extremely useful for the whole physical and mental health.
But the most important thing in being exposed to the sunlight is that the sun increases our vitality and elevates our consciousness, and it is also contributing to the internal development. Whenever you can, expose yourself to the sunlight for at least 10-15 minutes, whether you do it in the morning or later in the afternoon. In winter, you can sit near a window in order to get the sufficient amount of sunlight that your body needs.
