Some of you may already know that by tapping specific body parts, you can lower emotional distress, pain and even lose surplus kilograms. Moreover, tapping is a very easy technique which can be performed anywhere. By tapping you are actually doing acupressure and you are performing a self-help psychological technique which will help you express your problems in the same time. Furthermore, acupressure is an alternative medical technique designed for healing with the help of pressure on certain body areas with the help of the fingers. Acupressure appeared 5000 years ago in Asia and started spreading in other parts of the world thus offering people a non conventional way of healing. The usage of pressure and rhythm during acupressure is achieved through shiatsu massages and kneading of larger muscles. Rhythmical pressure leads to calmness i.e. the stress decreases.
When you touch the surface of the skin you are actually activating energy spots. Often times, due to physical and emotional trauma, the energy does not have a proper flow. Therefore, tapping improves the energy flow and the balance in the body is restored. Moreover, according to traditional Chinese medicine, there are 12 energy meridians in the body. EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE (EFT):
Firmly state what is causing you discomfort. For example, you might be stressed because of an exam coming up soon and you can say something similar as: “Although I am stressed about the exam, I love and accept myself.” Use the fingers on one hand to tap the outer fleshy edge of the other hand below the pinky finger. You can use as many fingers for tapping as you find comfortable. Repeat the statement aloud three times while tapping.
Tap the area on the inner edge of your eyebrow where the hair begins. Either side of the head is fine. As you tap on, state what is bothering you and how you feel about it. Spend 10 seconds tapping each of the next several body points.
Tap the outer corner of the eyes on the bone below the outer eyebrow hair on either head side while stating your issues.
Tap your fingers onto this area and state what is bothering you for 10 seconds.
As you tap, do not forget to state some feelings and emotions that burden you.
Tap and speak loudly about your problems.
State another issue that troubles you.
Tap the area which is two inches down from your armpit.
Tap the fingers one last time and state the reasons for your stressful behavior.
