Coffee certainly has its downfalls. However, we tend to only focus on the negatives and never hear anything good that coffee can do for us. According to many studies, coffee can benefit you in both the short-term and long-term.

If you’re a regular coffee drinker – good for you. Drinking coffee helps your body gain nutrients and protect itself against diseases.So next time your friend makes you feel guilty for being on your third cup, just show them this list of amazing things that coffee can do.

An 8 oz. cup of coffee contains B-vitamins, Potassium, Magnesium, and more. Being that people generally drink way more than 8 oz. a day, not to mention multiple cups a day, you can double or even triple your amount of vitamin intake.

The best part is, several studies have shown that people get more antioxidants from coffee every day than from fruits and vegetables.

According to several studies, coffee drinkers have a lower risk of developing various diseases. In most cases, the more cups of coffee a person drank, the lower their risk of disease became.

Researches have shown that coffee drinkers have a lower chance of developing common neurodegenerative diseases; with up to a 65% decrease of Alzheimer’s and a 60% decreased risk of Parkinson’s disease.

One study, involving almost 458,000 individuals, found that every cup of coffee reduced the risk of Type 2 diabetes by 7%.

Studies show up to an 84% reduced chance of developing cirrhosis and a 40% reduced risk of liver cancer. So, your liver also benefits from the more coffee you drink.

Coffee decrease your risk of being diagnosed with deadly diseases. In addition, drinking good 4-5 cups of coffee a day can make you live longer.

A study, published in New England Journal of Medicine that followed individuals for almost 13 years, concluded that men reduced their chances of death by 12% and women by 16%.

Caffeine – the #1 reason people steer away from coffee. Nobody can deny the downfall of caffeine. Being addictive, it can lead to withdrawal symptoms of headache and irritability, and the more caffeine you have, the more tolerant your body becomes to its effects. So getting that energized feeling may take longer to achieve than your first cup of coffee.

But, please note that caffeine is also found in soda pop, tea, and even chocolate, with coffee simply being the biggest source. So, if you’re looking to cut down, or eliminate it all together, be sure to eliminate it from all sources.
