Grey hair is commonly associated with aging. But, did you know that grey hair isn’t only connected to genetics and the ticking of time? Nutritional deficiencies have been found to cause those unwanted grey strands.  Make sure you are getting the sufficient doses of vitamins and minerals, and your hair will look young again.

Don’t go rushing to your nearest drug store looking for hair supplements and hair dyes. You don’t need pills or anything like that. All you need is to eat healthy foods, and today we’ll show you what to eat, to help keep those grey strands at bay.

Berries

Berries have always been revered for their load of vitamin C. A powerful antioxidant, vitamin C is a necessity for healthy skin and hair. It helps with collagen production, and at the same time it neutralizes excess free radicals that accelerate the aging process. And since gray hair is connected to aging, eating a lot of berries can keep them from showing up and making you look old.

Leafy Green Vegetables

Leafy Green Vegetables are loaded with dietary fiber and antioxidants. They’re also loaded with vitamin B, necessary for scalp health. So, nourishing the scalp with vitamin B is an excellent way to keep away all hair issues, including grey hair. Vitamin B12 is necessary for healthy hormone production, key for keeping grey hair at bay.

Salmon

Containing Omega-3 fatty acids and protein, salmon is good for your health. Regular consumption is good for your hair, thanks to its selenium content. If you don’t know what selenium is, it’s a mineral that is necessary for proper hormone production. As a bonus, the antioxidant property also helps protect the cells from free radical activity.

Chocolate

Copper – a mineral known for promoting production of melanin. The pigment that gives the skin and hair their color. Eating chocolate (particularly the semisweet kind) helps keep grey hair at bay.

Almonds

Same as the chocolate, almonds contain copper. They also contain large supplies of vitamin E – a nutrient known to promote healthy skin, nails, as well as hair.
