For centuries, the rice water has been used by women from Asia to nurture their hair and skin. This natural tonic makes your skin soft, and it can also “play” the role of conditioner. The best thing is that you can make it yourself.
In addition to a multitude of vitamins and minerals, the rice also contains a substance known as peter. Surely some of you have heard about the product called SK-II (the most expensive one of all the beauty products on the market) and the most important thing about this product is that is mainly made from this substance.
To make this rice water you will need organic rice, filtered water and a jar. First of all take a cup and fill it with rice until the cup is half full. Pour enough water just to cover the half a cup of rice. Allow the rice to soak for several minutes until the water becomes pale and white. (Prior to this, you can wash the rice, if you think it is not clean). And that is it. This facial toner can be used like any other. Pour it into a clean jar and keep in the fridge. Shelf life of this tonic is 4 to 5 days. You can also make this tonic with rice cooking water (put a little more water than usual as when cooking rice). When the rice is cooked, drain the water and use it as a tonic for your skin and hair.
To narrow the pores and restore the healthy glow on your face, first you need to clean your face and then soak a cotton swab in the rice water apply it to your face. You can also cut a piece from some cotton cloth, then dip it in the rice water and place this cotton cloth on your face and leave it like that for couple of minutes. This way you can use the rice water as a face mask.
Grains of rice can also be used for skin peeling. The only thing you need to do is wet the grains, put them on a glove and use them to massage your body.
Rice water is also an excellent hair conditioner. After washing your hair, soak your hair with the rice water, leave it like that for few minutes and then wash it with warm water.
You can also drink the rice water. This water will give you energy, because it is full with carbohydrates, and contains essential amino acids. However you should know that different types of rice contain different vitamins and nutrients, therefore you will have to put on some effort to find the one that suits you best.
