Did you know that Charles Osborn is the man who holds the record for the longest non-stop hiccups ever? – 69 years. We believe that he examined all the ways to stop this irritating phenomenon.
Each of us have had a period of hiccups and we know how it can be tedious. So it’s good to know these tricks so you do not become Mr. Hiccup.
Sugar
Take a teaspoon of white sugar and eat it. This method is, apparently, the most effective and works even in 95 % of cases.
Yogurt And Salt
Some people have sought help in the combination of yogurt and salt. Take two teaspoons of salt, mix it with half a cup of yogurt and drink it slowly.
Tickling
Tickling can be very helpful when it comes to hiccups. Tickle the area where you’re most sensitive.
Plug Your Ears
Put your fingers in your ears and keep them like that for 20 to 30 seconds. And since a glass of lukewarm water can help with hiccups, it would be best to plug your ears and drink water at the same time for a quicker effect. (Refer to the pieces of cotton wool to plug your ears).
Extend Your Tongue
This “exercise” is done by singers and actors, because it stimulates the opening between the vocal cords. Just stick out your tongue and breathe slowly.
