According to Chinese medicine, the organs function mostly during a specific time of the day. The energetic clock is divided into twelve -two hourly periods, and in each of these periods there are advices for nutrition and other life habits. The energetic inner clock, known as the Chinese bodily clock, is not new to the world of alternative medicine. It is a belief in eastern medicine, according to which, certain organs in the body are active in a specific time, while the others are resting.
According to Chinese, if we know this, we can plan when and what to eat i.e. when to drink tea, water or coffee, when to relax and how long to sleep.
5 am to 7 am
During this period, the duodenum is activated. This is the best time to wake up, drink 3 dl of water and go for a quick, short walk. The most frequent mistake is to drink coffee immediately after waking up, which many people practice, since the caffeine is like a diuretic and removes the water from the organism during the period when the duodenum needs it the most.
7 am to 9 am
The work of the bowel happens during this period when you need to eat breakfast. The first meal needs to contain water, proteins, healthy fats and carbohydrates with low glycemic index. You can drink your coffee during this period.
9 am to 11 am
This is the period when the spleen is active and you need to focus on work, while the spleen helps the brain to function properly and encourages the metabolism.
11 am to 1 pm
If you eat your lunch during these hours, you will increase your circulation. The lunch needs to be light.
1 pm to 3 pm
After lunch, the small intestine is digesting everything you ate. In this period the brain functions better, especially when you need to solve important problems or make important decisions.
3 pm to 5 pm
This is the best period to do your daily obligations, when the bladder is most active. Therefore, it is the best to drink a cup of tea and release toxins in this way.
5 pm to 7 pm
This is the best period for dinner. The kidneys are most active in this period since they are trying to recover all the energy you have spent during the work day. If you feel really tired during this period, lie down and rest.
7 pm to 9 pm
In this period the pericardium is most active and it is responsible for brain circulation and the reproductive organs.
9 pm to 11 pm
This is the ideal end for the work day with a relaxing book. In this period, avoid eating, since the thyroid and adrenal glands are distributing energy to all other organs in the body, speed up the metabolism and increase body temperature.
11 pm to 1 am
For people who have kidney or bile stones this is the period when they will experience pain since this is the period when the bile is most active.
1 am to 3 am
Waking up in this period to go to the bathroom is a sign that you need to exclude drinks, snacks and unhealthy food from your daily nutrition. The liver is now removing the toxins, and unhealthy food can damage the proper functioning of the liver.
3 am to 5 am
At the end of the cycle, the lungs are the most active ones and they release the toxins with coughing.
