Back pain is a common problem for most people around the world. Mostly the pain is caused by sitting or standing for a long period of time. However there are many other factors that can contribute to this condition. We can freely say that the pain in the lower back pretty common, but what if your body is trying to tell you something?
Upper back pain
At this point you need to know that the pains in this region are generally dull or sharp, and may be accompanied by muscle tension and stiffness.
The causes can be:
- overuse of muscle or ligament injury that supports the spine
- poor posture
- pressure on the spinal nerves
- vertebral fractures
- osteoarthritis
- ofacial pain
Symptoms:
Typical symptoms include weakness in the limbs, numbness in hands and feet, and loss of bladder or bowel control. If you have experienced these symptoms along with back pain, consult your doctor as it may be a sign of diabetes or cancer.
Lower back pain
Lower back pain can be caused by colon, rectum, or ovary cancer. Tumors in the spinal column can cause back pain due to the weakening of the bones. This can lead to fractures of the spine, tight nerves and spinal instability.
Pain in the shoulders can be a symptom of lung cancer or liver cancer.
